People love pointing at winged, bird-headed figures in Mesopotamia and Ecuador, saying it must be proof of ancient aliens or lost civilisations.
Reality check: in Mesopotamia they were #Anunnaki gods, in South America birds also symbolised divinity and the sky. Cultures often use the same symbols because we’re all human, not because aliens were handing out design templates.

It was posted to the university's FTP server in September where the sysadmin nicknamed it #Linux. Torvalds thought it was done. But code contributions started arriving and never stopped.
