Der Ersatz der früher völlig verrotteten Spundwände und sonstigen Anlagen am #Brunkowkai in #Wismar ist fast komplett.
Sieht sehr gut aus.

Widerstand gegen Neonazis in Jamel - Aachener Friedenspreis für Ehepaar Lohmeyer
Am 1. September 2025, dem Internationalen Antikriegstag, wurde der Aachener Friedenspreis unter anderem an Birgit und Horst Lohmeyer und ihr Musikfestival »Jamel rockt den Förster« in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern verliehen.
Jamel, ein Dorf, ansonsten fest in der Hand von Neonazis und völkischen Siedler*innen. Seit bald 20 Jahren setzt sich das Ehepaar Lohmeyer gegen diese Vereinnahmung des Dorfes durch die Rechtsextremist*innen ein und organisiert seit vielen Jahren das Festival "Jamel rockt den Förster". Dieses Jahr versuchten der örtlicher Landrat und die Gemeinde mit zahlreichen Auflagen das Festival auf bürokratischem Weg Steine in den Weg zu legen, wenn nicht sogar zu verhindern.
Für @RDL sprach ich mit Birgit Lohmeyer über die Preisverleihung und die Situation vor Ort, umgeben von Neonazis.

Einen schönen Guten Morgen und ein wunderbares Wochenende! 
Zum heutigen #Schiffssamstag der Zweimaster "Roald Amundsen" bei der Einfahrt in den Hafen von Wismar. Die Brigg wurde 1952 an der Elbe gebaut.

Close to the #medieval #trading #route between #Wismar and #Lübeck, on a part that today is a remote single track byroad, a merchant from Wismar was waylaid and murdered in the year 1391 AD. At the spot a #remembrance #stone was put up afterwards. If it was part of a sentence and fine imposed on the robbers or done by the family of the victim is unclear. The stone is still there.
One day at the end of July 2016 I went to #Poel #Island with somebody visiting us here in #Wismar to take a bath in the sea.
It was mid morning and we went out for a nice swim.
Back at the beach I took my camera from my bag and scanned the sea, suddenly stopping in mid swing:
Far out on the #Baltic #Sea I saw:
A distant square sail.
The head of a dragon.
A true #longboat!
It was the "Helge Ask" from #Roskilde passing by on a summer trip! 
What a sight!

"Schwedenköpfe"
Scribble of copies of sculpted heads of Swedish soldiers. Those heads marked the harbour entrance here. Similar sculptures are still "guarding" the port entrance in Wismar Bay.
(#Wismar, on the German coast of the Baltic Sea, was #Swedish #territory for several hundred years after the Thirty Years' War and - for a short time - the biggest sea fortress of the Kingdom of Sweden.)

Errors do happen and when the copperplates for the town images of #Wismar and #Rostock in "Civitates Orbis Terrarum" G. Bruin, F. Hogenbergius, etc. (Köln 1577-1588) were done, someone apparently mixed up the notes:
The mighty medieval churches of Rostock to the left got described as those of "Wismaria", whereas the great churches, walls and houses of Wismar to the right were labeled "Rostochium".
(They mixed up Oldenburg in Holstein with Stade too
